Edwalton Primary School is an International School and Eco-school passionate about sustainability and providing wide-ranging, fun and creative opportunities to enable all children to find their passion. The Headteacher will lead on driving the ethos, vision and values of the school, reflecting those of the Flying High Trust within our good, and continuously improving school. We have the highest standards and expectations of our children who we develop as independent learners who lead their own development. Parental and community engagement has been vital to our success and an area we focus on constantly and are keen to develop even further.

There is potential to grow beyond the school; through the Trust Headteacher + initiative there is the potential for the Headteacher, in agreement with the Local Governing Body and Trust CEO to engage in school to school support and the role of Executive Headteacher supporting Trust schools requiring short to longer term additional leadership capacity.

The Headteacher will take overall responsibility for the organisation, management and conduct of the school in accordance with the Trust’s Articles of Association and policies and in consultation with the Governing Body and its scheme of delegation.

The Headteacher will work with staff, governors, parents, carers and families, FHT networks and wider good practice to ensure the school continues to strive for excellence in all areas, not just maintaining our good status but ensuring the school is relentless in its strive for excellence.

Ensuring equality, safety and respect is central to the aims and ethos of the school and these will be reflected in all aspects of the Headteacher’s work.

The Head Teacher will fully understand the current legal requirements, local and national policies and guidance on safeguarding and the promotion of the wellbeing of children and young people, and will ensure that all requirements are met in full.
