CONTAINER HUB & SPOKE MOVEMENT

Introduction:

According to Railway Board’s Rate Circular No. 38 of 2012, this module “Container Hub & Spoke Movement” has been implemented in FOIS system. The module facilitates the user to register demand for the “Container Hub & Spoke Movement”, loading, Re-Loading at en-route Hubs, Freight Calculation and Removal of in-transit containers. Navigation process for the same is described as follows:-

Step 1: Demand registration can be made for “Container hub & Spoke Movement” by Demand-cum-Release screen.

·  Demand-cum-Release task can be found at following option-

In this screen a FOIS user can enter the “HUB Spoke Movement” (‘Y’ or ‘N’) to ensure whether it’s a Hub-Spoke Movement. Unless and until, the same is specified, the Telescopic Benefit shall not be applicable for all future journeys.

Step 2: After filling the details user will save the details. A Container Hub-Spoke Demand will be accepted by the System only if a Container Hub & Spoke movement is notified by the Railway Board, for the specified Customer, source Station and destination station.

Step 3: After “Release Complete” process, the details of the registered Demand can be viewed at “List OF forwarding Notes” Screen.

·  Container hub & Spoke Movement demand will be indicated with an additional (^) symbol at invoice number column.


Step 4: Loading Register Screen for “Container hub & Spoke Movement”

·  Loading screen can be reached by selecting Loading menu at “List of Forwarding Notes” screen-

·  In this screen, user will specify the originating station, final Destination and Hub-Spoke Via for every container.

Note: -

1.  User is facilitated with the system provided help to fill the various details on this screen.

2.  If originating Station of container and login station is same then User will enter new containers with all loading required details. In such case user will not be allowed to enter “Prev RR numb”.

·  In “Loading Details grid” there is “TLSP BNFT” column which indicates that whether the telescopic benefit is given to the container. As shown Below

Step 5: At expected freight screen remark has been added (wrt Telescopic benefit). Same can be viewed by user by selecting “Container wise Freight Details” menu.

Step 6: Telescopic Benefit remark has been added at “Loading Annexure-RR details (Container Loading)” screen and also at “Container Freight details” screen. The remarks of Telescopic Benefit shall also be printed on the Printout (A4/fanfold) of these reports.

·  The Hub & Spoke remark can also be seen in the View RR option and the same shall be printed on the pre-printed format also alongwith other details of the RR.


A new Task has been added in INWARD Cycle to Remove the In-Transit Containers. This task is applicable to the containers which were delivered short of destination (En-route).
