EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Information Communication Technology is now the energy with which the world is driving development. This is no secret to African governments, not excluding the government of Ghana. However, in real economic language, the beautiful speeches leaders of developing countries deliver on special occasions on the need and importance of ICT is more of a want or a mere desire to their people than a demand.

The ordinary people can simply not afford a good quality professional IT education in Ghana; it is reserved for the few rich people and their children. How many a Ghanaian can benefit from the IT courses offered by well known institutions such as NIIT, IPMC, Kofi Annan IT Centre, etc.

Recognizing the importance of professional IT education in our national development effort, Tomorrow Leaders Ghana (TLG) deems it expedient and highly imperative to build a formidable platform to reduce poverty and create wealth by adding value to the youth of Ghana through the ever important modern development fuel; ICT.

Since poverty has being a barrier to attaining this powerful development tool in Ghana, TLG intends to run a Free Compulsory Quality IT Education and Training programme in Ghana. It is for this reason we have instituted the TLG ‘YOUTH IN IT’ SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME.
