This paid internship has been created as part of the Creative Employment Programme. The Creative Employment Programme is an Arts Council England fund to support the creation of traineeships, formal apprenticeship and paid internship opportunities in England for unemployed young people wishing to pursue a career in the arts and cultural sector. There are certain criteria you must meet in order to be eligible to apply for a Creative Employment Programme funded internship. At the time of applying you must be aged 18 to 24 years old and you must be registered as unemployed with Jobcentre Plus.

HOURS : 6 Month Contract 35 hours per week. Some flexibility is required with this role which may involve some weekend and evening work.
SALARY: Above National Minimum Wage
PURPOSE:
Z-arts has a busy theatre, gallery, cafe and rooms throughout the building that we use for our own activities and that are hired out for a rich variety of events and meetings. The post holder will assist the site technician in providing support for our own Z-arts events and help those who have hired the building by ensuring efficient maintenance of the building.
To assist the site technician in providing support to both internal and external customers by ensuring efficient maintenance of the building.
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Training will be given to support the post holder to:
Undertake the maintenance, repair and upgrade of all technical and site equipment (such as decorating)
To assist the site technician to ensure the building is legally compliant by carrying out required checks, including, but not limited to, fire panel tests.
To assist with maintenance all security systems for the building, carrying out, recording and reporting daily security checks
Assist with room set ups for all Z-arts room hires (including setting out tables and chairs and audio visual equipment including projectors and screens)
To carry out maintenance to the equipment within the building, fabric and fittings of facilities on site.
Undertake light office equipment/furniture removal and relocation within the building.
Responsible for the upkeep of waste management systems by emptying bins to our bin store ready for collection.
To identify, repair and report any building or a fault with any systems eg fire panel or alarms
To liaise with contractors as and when required by the Site technician
General:
To work with the entire staff team to support and deliver Zion Arts Centre’s strategic and creative vision.
To fulfill the requirements of Zion Arts Centre’s Health and Safety Policy.
To adhere to all Zion Arts Centre’s policies and procedures
Any other duties required by the site technician or the Senior Management Team
PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Excellent time keeping skills, conscientious and punctual
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to demonstrate attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within a diverse team
A willingness to undertake all tasks with a can do attitude
