Economy of 2007 – challenges for Poland and Europe

Economy of 2007 – challenges for Poland and Europe

Not so long ago there were a lot of discussions in the economic society about Lisbon Agenda – its goals, methods of achieving them, time which was left to implement scheduled changes in this mega-plan. Then deep silence followed. The Agenda as a comprehensive idea for the EU countries to catch up with the USA economically is now a defunct document. Only some assumptions are being put into practice of the document, which was to have helped to modernize the economy of European Union. Why has this happened? What are the reasons for blocking the necessary changes in the Old Continent?

§  Which direction is the European economy going?

§  What do business people expect from the EU politicians?

§  Will failing to implement the Lisbon Agenda result in a serious flight of capital from and loss of jobs in EU?

§  Which direction is the Polish economy going?
