JOB DESCRIPTION

The Shipping Department Representative processes customer orders, utilizes knowledge of shipping procedures, creates shipping labels, creates invoices, and processes payment information. The Shipping Department Representative maintains the Welcome Board for announcing all visitors. The Shipping Department Representative understands the Daily Production Chart in order to assist the Department Manager with the daily needs of the company. Performs other projects as directed by the Department Manager or upper management.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES AND DUTIES

Shipping Department Representative:

  • Maintains, verifies and updates customer accounts by recording account information including address, telephone, email, etc.Maintains good records
  • Carrying administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, scanning, faxing etc.
  • Processes customer orders, utilizes knowledge of shipping procedures, creates shipping labels, creates invoices, and processes payment information.
  • Packs, seals, labels, and affixes postage to prepare material for shipping, using work devices such as a tape dispenser and postage scale.
  • Archive & Restores Mail Log File to computers.
  • Requests assistance of the Department Manager if there are any questions of how to complete his/her daily assigned tasks.
  • Familiarizes his/her self with the company’s website including the (FAQ’s)
  • Performs all sales tasks required to create satisfied customers.
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
  • Receives all incoming packages and accepts deliveries.
  • Compares, identifies information and counts, weights or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
  • Leaves online feedback on websites, including but not limited to: E-bay.
  • Handles all returns that are pre-approved by the Department Manager.
  • Cleans and return to stock all approved returned items.
  • Records the amount of Versa Gripps returned to stock on the Daily Production Chart (DPC) and double checks that the on-hand numbers are correct.
  • Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Understands the Daily Production Chart in order to assist the Department Manager with the daily needs of the company.
  • Always requests approval from the Department Manger or upper management before taking monetary action.
  • Maintains a neat and tidy workspace.
  • Verifies and keeps good records.
  • Observes all the company rules and safety practices.

Physical Demands: While performing the responsibilities of this job the Production Worker will be regularly required to stand, walk, lift, and sit for long periods of time throughout the day. The Production Worker will occasionally be required to lift a minimum of 45lbs. Be able to stoop, talk, hear, push, pull, kneel, crouch, bend, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required for the Production Worker include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

ATTIRE: All clothing, footwearand accessories should be clean and allow employees to work safely, and be free of rips, holes, fraying, and other defects or damage inappropriate to the work environment/setting. Additionally, clothing with words, logo’s or pictures that could be offensive should not be worn. No midriff baring tops, no halter tops, no low cut tops, no loose jewelry, no long skirts and no loose or baggy clothing shall be allowed in the facility. Shorts and skirts are allowed but must be arms reach in length. For safety reasons, shoes must be closed toe only with a no-slip sole and no loose shoelaces. If there are questions as to what constitutes proper attire, yourDepartment Manager should be consulted. Upper management has final decision.
