Title: Seasonal Event & Facility Rental Position
Status: Non-Exempt
Salary: $9/hour
Schedule: Seasonal (March 13 – October 31, 2018), minimum of 25 hours per week. Certain event weeks may require 40 hours. Holidays and weekends are mandatory.
Reports to: Facility Rental Coordinator & Event Coordinator
Supervise: This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Position Overview: The primary responsibility of this position is setup and take down for a wide variety of Gabis Arboretum at Purdue Northwest events and facility rentals including concerts, weddings, festivals, and other arboretum events. This position will work in public areas, interacting with guests while providing a superior guest service experience.
Primary Functions:
· Set-up and break down of events and facility rentals including but not limited to; chairs, tables, arbors, wooden bars, trash/recycle cans, and pop-up tents.
· Ensure event venue is cleaned, prepped, and up to Gabis Arboretum at Purdue Northwest standards.
· Clean and remove trash from public restrooms and venue spaces.
· Direct guests to appropriate event venue.
· Transport guests via golf cart to event venue as necessary.
· Enforce facility policies and procedures and notify supervisor of any issues.
· Inspect event venue after rental to assure renter compliance with company policies.
· Identify and respond to emergencies according to emergency protocols. Involve supervisor as needed.
· Act upon all comments and complaints in a friendly manner.
· If licensed, serving beer and wine at occasional events.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
· Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
· Must be able to remain tactful in fast paced situations.
· Position requires a neat and clean appearance and always showing up on time for shift.
· Position requires you to be dependable and trustworthy.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Ability to obtain a liquor license.
