Abstract:Formal concept analysis and rough set theory provide two different methods for data analysis and knowledge processing. Given a context K, one can get the concept lattice L(K) in Wille's sense and the object-oriented rough concept lattice RO-L(K) (resp., attribute-oriented RA-L(K)). We study relations of the three kinds of lattices and their properties from the domain theory point of view. The concept of definable sets is introduced. It is proved that the family Def (K) of the definable sets in set-inclusion order is a complete sublattice of RO-L(K) and is a complete field of sets under some reasonable conditions. A necessary and sufficient condition for Def (K) to be equal to RO-L(K) is given. A necessary and sufficient condition is also given for the complete distributivity of RO-L(K). We also study algebraicity of RO-L(K) and several sufficient conditions are given for RO-L(K) to be algebraic. &copy; 2009 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Abstract:In this paper the instability of the uniform equilibrium of a general strongly coupled reaction-diffusion is discussed. In unbounded domain and bounded domain the sufficient conditions for the instability are obtained respectively. The conclusion is applied to the ecosystem, it is shown that cross-diffusion can induce the instability of an equilibrium which is stable for the kinetic system and for the self-diffusion-reaction system. &copy; 2009 Elsevier Ltd. Abstract:In this paper, the asymptotic behavior of solutions to the Ginzburg-Landau system of inhomogeneous superconductivity in three dimensions was studied with an applied magnetic field | h<inf>e x</inf> | = O (| ln &Epsilon; |). We show that the limiting singularities set is 1-dimensional rectifiable, which mean curvature was also given. Abstract:A diffusive epidemic model is investigated. This model describes the transmission of avian influenza among birds and humans. The behavior of positive solutions to a reaction-diffusion system with homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions are investigated. Sufficient conditions for the local and global asymptotical stability are given by spectral analysis and by using Lyapunov functional. Our result shows that the disease-free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable, if the contact rate for the susceptible birds and the contact rate for the susceptible humans are small. It suggests that the best policy to prevent the occurrence of a pandemic is not only to exterminate the infected birds with avian influenza but also to reduce the contact rate for susceptible humans with the individuals infected with mutant avian influenza. Abstract:This research is aimed to develop a nanomicelle delivery system in order to enhance the solubility and stability of camptothecin (CPT) in aqueous media. In this case, &alpha;,&beta;-poly[(N-carboxybutyl)-l-aspartamide] (PBAsp)-CPT was conjugated by the esterification between PBAsp and 20-OH of CPT, and hence used to fabricate nanomicelles with a particle size between the pore size of blood capillary in normal tissue and that in tumor tissue. It was worthy of note that the drug-loaded system of PBAsp-CPT nanomicelle improved the solubility and stability of CPT in aqueous media. However, with an increase of the CPT loading in PBAsp-CPT, the solubility sharply decreased. Meanwhile, the sizes of PBAsp-CPT nanomicelles showed a tendency of increase. Moreover, the drug release of PBAsp-CPT nanomicelles displayed a linear sustaining profile, and hence resulted in the essential decrease of cytotoxicity to L929 cell line. The assembled nanomicelles based on the PBAsp-CPT conjugates showed a great potential as polymer prodrug of tumor therapy, and the controlled nano-scale might achieve the passive tumor targeting. &copy; 2009 Elsevier B.V. Abstract:This paper deals with the behavior of solutions to the reaction-diffusion system under homogeneous Neumann boundary condition, which describes a prey-predator model with nonlocal delay. Sufficient conditions for the global stability of each equilibrium are derived by the Lyapunov functional and the results show that the introduction of stage-structure into predator positively affects the coexistence of prey and predator. Abstract:A novel electrochemical impedimetric immunosensor based on O-carboxymethylchitosan surface modified Fe<inf>3</inf>O<inf>4</inf> nanoparticles (denoted as OCMCS-Fe<inf>3</inf>O<inf>4</inf> nanoparticles) was developed for rapid detection of Campylobacter jejuni, which is becoming the most common cause of gastroenteritis in developed countries and raising major public health concerns worldwide. In the present study, anti-FlaA monoclonal antibodies 2D12 (denoted as 2D12McAbs) were immobilized on OCMCS-Fe<inf>3</inf>O<inf>4</inf> nanoparticles. The detection was performed by measuring relative change in impedance before and after 2D12McAbs-Campylobacter jejuni reaction with the technique of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Under the optimized conditions, the relative change in impedance was proportional to the logarithmic value of Campylobacter jejuni concentrations in the range of 1.0 &times; 10<sup>3</sup> to 1.0 &times; 10<sup>7</sup> CFU/mL (r = 0.991). The advantages of the OCMCS-Fe<inf>3</inf>O<inf>4</inf> nanoparticle-based immunosensor are simplicity of use, fast response, wide linear range, acceptable reproducibility and long stability. Moreover, the immunosensor could be regenerated by being treated with glycine-HCl buffer solution (pH 2.8). We demonstrate the convenient application of the novel immunosensor for the detection of Campylobacter jejuni in diarrhea patients' stool samples. &copy; 2009 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Abstract:Pomponlike La<inf>2</inf>(MoO<inf>4</inf>)<inf>3</inf> microstructures assembled with single-crystalline nanoflakes have been facilely fabricated via a surfactant-assisted ultrasound route for the first time. Various synthesis conditions were examined, such as the surfactant concentration, the molecular structure of surfactants, and the pH value. The obtained pomponlike microstructures were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), (field-emission) scanning electron microscopy [(FE)SEM], transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and nitrogen adsorption/desorption isotherms. It has been revealed that a minimum concentration of sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) was required for the formation of pomponlike La<inf>2</inf>(MoO<inf>4</inf>)<inf>3</inf> microstructures. When the SDS concentration is above 0.02 mol L<sup>-1</sup>, the pomponlike microstructures become more perfect, and the size is also increased with the increasing SDS concentration. Under the same sonication, similar pomponlike microstructures were obtained when a cationic surfactant, cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB), was used instead of the anionic surfactant SDS, indicating that the hydrophobic alkyl chains are an important factor for the formation of the pomponlike La<inf>2</inf>(MoO<inf>4</inf>)<inf>3</inf> microstructures. It is also found that the pomponlike La<inf>2</inf>(MoO<inf>4</inf>)<inf>3</inf> microstructures can only be obtained within an optimal pH range of 8.0-9.0 under sonication. Based on TEM, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and solubilization experiment, a formation mechanism of pomponlike La<inf>2</inf>(MoO<inf>4</inf>)<inf>3</inf> microstructures was proposed, in which the collaborative action of surfactants and sonication plays a key role. Furthermore, the porosity of the pomponlike La<inf>2</inf>(MoO<inf>4</inf>)<inf>3</inf> microstructures were discussed. &copy; 2009 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
