About the design: *From your own design? - My own design inspired by Cherub faces from the Lepi Company, Val Gardena, Italy.

A toddler in a Santa Hat and a fake beard.

Here are a few other Santas I have carved in the past few days. Sorry that they turned out so large. If you decide to use any of them maybe you can reduce the size.

I have just found your magazine and am not very familiar with navigating the whole site yet. I hope we can get better acquainted as time goes by. I have a web site and blog you may like to look at.

Hi Matt:

Attached is "Santa's Elf" which is about 7" high, carved from basswood and painted in oil. It is from a pattern and articleby Mark Gargac presented in Woodcarving Illustrated "Hand Carved Holiday Gifts" edition.

I have attached pix of my Santa carving that I submitted for the last Woodcarving Magazine. Did not succeed but I enjoyed the process. Details below

From my own design,

Inspired by the editor of WI magazine, (I complained about previous Santas all looking miserable or fierce, she said 'If you don't like it, do something about it').

From a famous poster by John Hassal promoting an English seaside resort; the original has a Jolly Fisherman skipping along a beach.

Santa is happy because he has finished delivering all his goodies and is on his way back to Lapland or wherever with his empty sack.

Carved in lime (Tillia spp.) and painted in acrylics.

With best wishes,

Richard Douglas the Wildwood Carver

Hi Matt,

Attached are some Santa ornament photos and a shelf sitter.

All were carved from basswood, finished with acrylic washes and sealed with Minwax satin clear.

Faces were set up using Pete LeClair method then modified to my liking.

If you can use any of them feel free to do so.

Hi Matt,

I have a Santa on ski's that was inspired by a Ron Ranson design.

It was carved in Basswood and finished with acrylic paints. It measures approx. 10" x 2.5" x 6" high.

Thanks for the consideration

All are made from Basswood/Acrylics/Wax

I developed them myself. The ideas came from vintage Christmas cards. I recently taught these Santas a our recent Metro Carving Weekend in Anoka, Minnesota.

I've produced a book on them with patterns and two step-by-step.

They are aprox 8" tall

Hope this isn't too late.

LOL Matt...sorry. See what I mean about not having things together!!

They are all basswood, painted with acrylics.

The two Santas, Santa with Puffin and Santa with Lantern, are about 6 1/2" tall

The Santa bottlestopper is about 4 1/4"

Thanks
