TASK DESCRIPTION
1.0BACKGROUND
NAVSOC is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the Ultra-High Frequency and Extremely High Frequency (UHF/EHF) Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) constellation and associated ground systems utilizing communications over Wide Area Networks (WANs) connecting the Naval Satellite Control Network (NSCN) and the Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN). Network traffic over the NSCN and AFSCN utilize Juniper Serial Data to Internet Protocol Hardware/Software. The current Juniper hardware/software components require a technical refresh. The new equipment has been purchased and received by the government (referred to as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE)) and requires installation. The Juniper Serial Data to Internet ProtocolHardware/Software will replace current Juniper equipment located at NAVSOC HQ at Point Mugu CA, Detachment Delta (DET D) Schriever AFB Colorado, Detachment Alfa (DET A) Prospect Harbor Maine, and Detachment Charlie (DET C) Finegayan Guam.
2.0SCOPE OF WORK
(1)Capture current configuration of Juniper devices in use on the NSCN and AFSCN.
(2)Configure new GFE devices to match current devices (NSCN and AFSCN). Contractor may make recommendations for configuration changes, but must receive government approval prior to implementation.
(3)Coordinate with NAVSOC to schedule installation of new Juniper devices – NAVSOC must still perform mission while installations proceed. A coordinated installation plan must be developed by the contractor and approved by the government.
(4)Replace existing Juniper devices (NSCN and AFSCN) with new GFE devices at HQ. Contractor shall remove old devices, install new devices, and complete/conduct necessary configuration, integration, and testing to verify functionality. There will be a one-for-one replacement of old devices with the new GFE devices; including spares (see tables below).
(5)Upgrade CTPview software at HQ (NSCN and AFSCN) to the current version.
(6)Provide two (2) days of Juniper CTP training at HQ. Contractor will provide lecture and hands-on lab exercises of the Circuit To Packet (CTP) product and the use of the CTPView product.
