Explanation of Theme

Many of the decorations and music featured tonight are inspired byor references to our favorite shows and games that have had the most emotional impact on us. Some of features in our theme are explained below.
Red Thread of Fate–In the anime “Kimi no Na Wa” (Your Name),Musubi is explained to be strings that connect people to one another and represent the flow of time. It is related to the East Asian belief the gods tie an invisible red cord to those that are destined to meet one another in a certain situation or help each other in a certain way. This red thread is attached to the wedding favors for you to take home.

Light Orbs– The anime “Clannad” plays heavily around the theme that children are the culmination of their parents’ hopes and dreams. In this series, light orbs are a powerful source of power that are created in the illusory world when someone helps someone else achieve happiness by completing a goal. They are also a powerful force collectively, and can cause miracles to occur. Tomoya’s child Ushio was able to grant Tomoya’s wish because she is the culmination of the light orbs that he had collected and shared with Nagisa. Light orbs were featured on the save the date and are suspended beneath the chandeliers.

Konpeito– In the anime “Kobato”, the main character’s wish will be fulfilled if she can fill a magic bottle full of konpeito (a simple, unflavored sugar candy), one of which appear when she is able to heal the heart of or bring happiness to another person. The wedding favors are little glass bottles filled with konpeito, a representation of the cumulative effect that those in attendancehave had on our lives.

Rain – In the game “Undertale”, the main character provides an umbrella to a stone knight to shelter him from the falling raindrops. This in turn triggers the song “Memory” in the game. This piece is featured in the pre-ceremony music as well as represented by the acrylic beads hanging from the chandeliers.

Feathers – In the anime “Air TV”, the feathers of the winged beings carry the ability to make miracles happen. The anime overall examines the themes of overcoming loss, of the relationships between people as family and lovers, and the transcendence of feelings beyond death. Feathers were featured on the save the dates.

Piano Music –Piano and instrumental arrangementsfrom our favorite shows and games were hand-picked for this event. These include pieces from: Air TV, Angel Beats, Secret, Clannad, Kanon 2006, Kimi no Na Wa, No Game No Life, Your Lie in April, To the Moon, and Undertale.

Frogs & Squirrels – Bryan & Aundria’s respective spirit animals. Bryan loves food, enjoys climbing things, and can jump long distances like a frog. Aundria tends to be more spastic, prefers making nests at home, and is fond of chattering like a squirrel. Their pet names for each other are Frahg (neutral or in trouble), Frogger (uppity), Froggy (in the good books at the moment), Polliwog(cute), and Skwur (up to no good), Skewer (also up to no good), Skweer (happy squirrel), Skwargh (angry squirrel) respectively.

Please enjoy your 2 “FrahgSkwur” drink tokens tonight!

Your presence means the world to us, thank you for sharing in our special day!
