I also pass out a WS with the 21 parts I require the students to know and have them write down the parts on a separate sheet of paper so that they can study by themselves for the test.)
  • Tell students that a pretest will be tomorrow on the parts. If they make 21 out of 21 on pretest they will not have to take the “real” test and will receive 21 bonus points. If they do not make 21/21 then they will take the sewing machine test on DAY 7. Everyone must pass test to sew.

DAY 9

  • Start the day by going over how you want them to sew when it’s their turn on the machine and what assignment in the book the rest of them are doing. Sew straight line on notebook paper-I start on one side of the room and go row by row. While ½ the room is sewing the other half is doing seat work covering chapters in the book on the sewing machine that I will not have time to cover while we are sewing.
