Job Title: Time Bank Lunch Club & Projects Co-ordinator–P/T (1.5 or 2 days per week)

(There is the possibility of an additional 1daypw, pending the outcome of a funding application)

Length of contract: fixed term until 31/3/20

Salary: £22,000 pa pro rata- £6,600pa for 1.5 days or £8,800 pa for 2 days

Responsible to: Time Bank Plus Manager

Purpose:

The Time Bank Lunch Club & Projects Co-ordinator will be responsible for development, co-ordination and delivery of the ‘Out to Lunch’ project which is due to take place every Wednesday in Twerton.

The remaining hours will ideally be worked on a Friday, when the worker will be responsible for maintaining an effective reception point at the Time Bank office, providing office, volunteer or project support as needed together with any additional tasks arising from the main project.

‘Out to Lunch’ Project

The worker will co-ordinate, support and empower a group of locally based volunteers in providing a cooked meal and afternoon activities to older local residents in the Twerton area. Volunteers will play a central part in this project and direction will also be provided by a small project steering group comprising volunteers, older residents & key community agencies, including the social housing provider.

Tasks will include:

  • Recruiting, supporting and working alongside volunteers to facilitate and oversee the operational management of the lunch club
  • Publicising the project & recruiting locally based older residents to attend the lunch club
  • Co-ordinating the provision of transport to those people in need of it
  • Co-ordinating lunch provision, including meal planning, budgeting, shopping, cooking, kitchen tasks & customer service
  • Co-ordinating the provision of afternoon activities such as quizzes, board games, bingo, music, knitting, etc
  • Setting up and co-ordinating the project steering group to plan and monitor the project on an ongoing basis

The worker will be supported by the Time Bank Plus Development Worker / Manager.

Additional Project

If funding is secured, the additional project involves working with elderly Care Home residents and people with learning disabilities, to facilitate their involvement with the wider community.
