Region Swim Meet

** Important: There are NO BATHROOMs between Hawkinsville and the Douglass. Take care of that before you get on the bus or you will have a very long & uncomfortable ride. We will take team photos at this meet.
LOCATION: South Georgia College pool, 100 West College Park Drive, Douglas, Georgia
TIMES: We will meet at the HoCo side parking lot at 9:35 a.m. (after 2nd period) & the bus will leave at 9:45. Do not be late.
Warm ups 2:00 – lanes 1 - 6. The meet starts at 3:00.
Wear something warm and comfortable on the bus, you can change after we get to the meet.
The meet will probably be over around 6:00, so we will be back by 9. There will be a brief awards ceremony after the meet is over. We will stop somewhere like McDonalds to get something to eat on the way there. Bring your own money for this stop or pack something for lunch.
If you plan on leaving the meet with your parents (ie, not riding the bus back), you must give me the note at the bottom of the page signed by your parents at the time you get on the bus.
FOOD:
o Eat breakfast before you get to the bus or bring something to eat & drink on the bus.
o Concessions will be available.
o If you want something after the meet, bring some money for that.
Items to Bring: You cannot write all over your back, so don’t do that. You will need your suit, team cap, goggles, 2 towels, jacket/sweat shirt and pants, sandals, blanket to sit on, cards, headphones, books, etc. This will be a long meet, so bring something to occupy your time. You cannot bring a radio or any noise making device if it doesn’t have head phones.
PARENTS: This meet charges $5.00 at the gate for entry. Heat sheets are $3.00

Region Swim Meet Info
· Check in for all teams will be at front door. Please have your bus driver park at the far end near the softball field after they drop the team off. NO PARKING on GRASS. Please let your parents know this also.
· Gym area- please tell your swimmers that they will need to enter the gym and place all their belongings .etc. on the wall to their right. Nothing should be on or near the bleachers that are open or near the podium and award table in center of gym. The bleachers will be used during the award presentation after the meet and they need to be clean and dry.
· Entering the pool area: Weather permitting, swimmers must enter the pool area via the outdoor patio.
· No balls of any kind allowed in gym.
· Pool Area: Tables and chairs are for coaches only. Swimmers are to stop to talk with you on their way out. If the weather doesn’t cooperate with us on Saturday then the area behind the coach’s tables will be used for coming & going.
· Senior Recognition: After the invocation I’ll introduce all seniors so if you’ll have your seniors line up near the door closest to the starting blocks around 2:50 that’ll be great. Team seniors need to be together. In the following order Coffee, Houston, Lee, Northside, and Valdosta.
· We’ll break for lunch between events 8 & 9.
· Awards Ceremony: According to the sessions report the meet should end around 5:30 p.m.(we may have to slow a couple of the races down due to swimmers swimming back to back events.) After the last race we’ll need to get our report and finish the labels (400 relay) for medals before the awards presentation. This should give everyone time to change and get seated in the gym.
· Please have your swimmers clean up the area in which they sit. If they have a cooler they need to make sure that the drain is closed on it. We don’t need water running out onto the new floor.
