Make clear that there is an important problem (current or emerging) that you are going to solve, or opportunity you are going to exploit. Are you going to increase revenues, reduce costs, increase speed, expand reach, eliminate inefficiency, increase effectiveness?
The Solution (50 words)
What specifically are you offering and for who?
The Opportunity (50 words)
Market segmentation, size, growth and dynamics:
  • How many people or companies?
  • How much is the segment worth?
  • How fast is it growing? What factors are driving that growth?
You will be better off targeting a meaningful percentage of a smaller, well-defined, growing market than claiming a tiny percentage of a huge, heterogeneous, mature market.
Your Competitive Advantage (50 words)
No matter what you might think, you have competition. At a minimum, you compete with the current way of solving the problem you’ve identified. Most likely, there is a near competitor, or a directcompetitor that is about to emerge. Articulate your unique benefits and advantages.
The Revenue Model (50 words)
  • How specifically are you going to generate revenues, and from whom?
  • What are your key performance indicators (KPI), e.g. number of customers, units, revenues
  • What level of KPI will you reach within three to five years?

The Team (50 words)
Why are you and your team (if you have one) qualified to solve the problem you’ve identified?
Financial Expectations (50 words)
You should show three years of revenues, expenses, losses/profits, cash and headcount. You should also show a couple of key performance indicators which drive these numbers e.g. number of customers and units shipped each year.
