SIGEP KEY PLAYER AT THE CARPIGIANI GELATO MUSEUM

At Anzola Emilia the museum dedicated to the history, culture and technology of the iconic Italian-made product

Rimini, 7th December 2012 - SIGEP, Rimini Fiera’s world leading expo for artisan gelato, is also a key player at the “Carpigiani Gelato Museum”, the first museum dedicated to the history, culture and technology of the iconic Italian-made product. At the end of September the official opening to the public was held of the structure desired by the Carpigiani Foundation and whose curators are Andrea Barbieri and Luciana Polliotti, long-lasting SIGEP collaborator for large international events such as the Gelato World Cup.

The museum ends its historical coverage in 1985, when the great books that are to this day a reference point for the artisan gelato world were published.

And, precisely in 1980, Rimini Fiera hosted the first edition of SIGEP, the ad poster of which is on show at the museum in a dedicated position.

Luciana Polliotti remembers, "I have not missed a single edition of SIGEP which, with brilliant intuition decided to launch an exhibition that is now a worldwide reference point for the entire sector. Over 30 years of growth together: SIGEP has every right to be considered a fundamental player in the history of gelato."

The museum in Anzola Emilia is a real home for artisan gelato, documenting its roots and showcasing a food that is fresh and high quality, as is the gelato maker’s profession. Inside, visitors can see an ample collection of objects and machines to identify a place in our memory and identity, as well as highlighting the direction taken by innovation through time.
