Tic-Tac-Toe Book Report
For your tic-tac-toe book report, you must first read a fictional book that is at least 100-150 pages long and approved by your teacher. Then you must complete your tic-tac-toe book report. Just like the game tic-tac-toe, you need to choose three squares horizontally, vertically, or diagonally to each other to get credit. This is a three-part project, but it does allow you some choice. All parts of your book report project are due Tuesday, April 23rd. At the time you present your projects, you must turn this sheet back in with your project choices circled.
1a. Put important items from the story in a shoebox and explain them (10 items)OR
1b. Describe an incident from the story as though you were an on-the-scene reporter
OR
1c. Do a “book chat” about the book – talk up the book to the class. Pretend that you are a salesperson trying to get them to buy it. / 2a. Create a crossword puzzle about the book

2b. Make a list describing the main character (at lest 30 characteristics)
OR
2c. Make a travel brochure about the setting of the story / 3a. Make a model or diorama of a scene or something important from the book
OR
3b. Make a mobile of at least 6 important items from the story
OR
3c. Make a new book jacket for the book (include the front and back cover for the book)
4a. Write five diary entries as if you were one of the characters
OR
4b. Write a friendly letter from one of the characters to another (with events from the story presented from that character’s point of view)
OR
4c. Write a Dear Abby-style advice column complete with a letter that describes the conflict the character has and the response letter that gives that character advice (Be creative!) / 5a. Share your book with the class by doing a PowerPoint presentation of at least 10 slides

5b. Do a video clip of a scene from the book
OR
5c. Pretend to interview the author of the book. Make an audio or video recording of it
OR
5d. Pretend to interview on of the main characters of the book, and make an audio or video recording of it / 6a. Write and present a poem about the main characters
OR
6b. Write a song or rap about the book and share it with the class
OR
6c. Read a favorite passage of the book aloud to the class (at least 3 pages) and briefly describe why it was your favorite passage
7a. Create an illustrated timeline or poster of important events in the book
OR
7b. Create an illustrated map of where the story takes place
OR
7c. Create a movie poster advertising the book
OR
7d. Create an illustrated family tree or character map that shows how the characters are related to each other. / 8a. Become the author and tell why you wrote the book (Don’t just guess – research the author)

8b. Pretend you are one of the minor characters, and explain to the class how you would describe the main character
OR
8c. Dress as one of the characters and act out one of the scenes / 9a. Write a new ending to the book
OR
9b. The author has written to you and wants to know how this book could have been improved –tell him/her
OR
9c. Write a newspaper article detailing one of the important events from the book. Be sure to include who, what, when, where and why in the article.
