Tic-Tac-Toe Assignment Board for The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

You must complete 1 assignment a week to go along with your daily reading. You may complete any three assignments, but they must be three in a row and make a tic-tac-toe. Each assignment is worth 35 points. They can be done in any order and can be completed early.

Vocabulary:
Make a list of 15 new vocab. words you have learned through your reading (not in packet). And complete vocabulary boxes. Choose 5 words to use in meaningful sentences about the story. / RAFT Writing Activity:
See me and choose one of four writing prompts. Write a one page entry from the characters point of view. / Map:
Create a map of Narnia. Include at least 6 locations, title, compass rose, and a legend. Must be colored and accurately represent locations according to the story and include a paragraph explaining the importance of each location in the story.
Design your Own Kingdom:
Create a poster board display or model of your own kingdom. See me for an activity sheet to get some ideas of things to include. You must include at least 4 of the requirements on the activity sheet in the description of your kingdom. / Symbolism Paper
Write a one page paper explaining the different religious symbolism or references to religion in the story. Essay must include at least three examples from the book. Essay must be at least 3 paragraphs with clear introduction, body, and conclusion. / Interview:
Work with a partner and interview one of the characters from the story. You must have at least 15 questions. One person is the character and the other is the interviewer. The character must answer the questions as the character would about the events, and experiences in the story.
Double Entry Journal:
Complete a double entry journal with 10 details from the book and your personal reaction/connections. / Advertisement:
Create a colorful, one page advertisement for the land of Narnia. Describe the setting, include at least 5 things to do to attract visitors to Narnia and include a picture. / Quotations:
Choose 5 quotes from the story and explain their meaning and importance. You need a 4-7 sentence paragraph for each quote. You can also see me for a list of quotes.

Daily Homework

You will receive a study guide with vocabulary and questions to go with the story. Your grade on these questions will be determined by how much you choose to complete. You have the potential for up to 5 points a chapter for the study guide. You must at least complete the required activity.

To get a “C”-4 pts.

Required: You MUST complete the “Vocabulary and “Questions” section for each chapter.

To get a “B”: 4.5 pts.

You must complete the required “Vocabulary” and “Questions” AND “Thinking About the Story” and “Dig Deeper “questions.

To get an “A+: 5 pts.

You must complete all of the above mentioned activities AND the optional writing activity.
