  • Managed an enhancement to the SCADA system to disable the auto-reconfiguration capabilities of 900 “Smart” ALRS switches located on the 34kV grid in the Chicago area. The enhancement was mandated by NERC. Failure to comply can be penalized by fines of $1 million per day.

SCADA Team Leader

Progressed from individual contributor to Team Leader for a group that developed, implemented and supported a Bulk Terminal SCADA system located at 45 remote sites across the United States. Ensured that the remote sites continuously communicated with the headquarters servers to provide customer authorization and allocation data while collecting volume and billing data from the terminals. Demonstrated superior analytic and problem solving abilities.

Key Contributions:

  • Successfully deployed Terminal Automation (TA) systems at 45 CITGO-operated bulk product terminals. Developed interface that allowed the automatic transmission of data between corporate headquarters and the terminals. Designed data interfaces between SAP and TA. Project cost was $6.2 million and the duration was 5 years.
  • Selected to serve as a subject matter expert for the SAP Customer, Allocation and Product SAP Implementation teams to develop interfaces to/from SAP. Successfully developed a conversion strategy that assured quick, easy conversion while acknowledging the unknown with thorough contingency plans.
