TIAW VP, FINANCE & TREASURER’S REPORT

The financial goals of TIAW are to achieve financial sustainability andto maintain sufficient levelsof operating reserves to ensure continuity of operationsin support of TIAW. During the course of the year, a new position VP, Finance was added. This position is part of the Executive Committee. In recent years, TIAW has primarily relied on membership dues, donations, and Global Forum for income. In order to improve TIAW’s solvency and build a more robust organization to address TIAW’s mission of economic empowerment for women, TIAW entered into an agreement with a corporate sponsorship consultant. The VP, Finance will have oversight of corporate sponsorship.

The overall financial position of TIAW, as of September30,2012,appears in the figure to the right. TIAW received $7,000 from sponsors in support of the 2012 Global Forum.

TIAW membership updates include41 member associations, (7new), 77 individuals (7 new and 22 complementary), and 9 lifetime memberships (1 new) during the 2012 year.

We want to acknowledge the hard work of our TIAW leadership for the efforts expended and still underway to make sure that our annual forum and TIAW continue to be a success. In particular, we want to acknowledge the hard work, dedication, financial support of the CEO team, Maxine Westaway and Alan Westaway.

We want to express our sincere gratitude tothe Executive Committee, Board,past presidents, othermembers and their families, and friends for your continuing support and generosity. And,as always,we want to extend our sincere gratitude and thanks tothe Old Girls’Network. Special appreciation to Evelyn Brown who has held the Treasurer position for many years and for the guidance and support she has given Peg Weir who takes on this vital and challenging position.
