Thursday Open Championship/Playoffs updated 3/26/17
Qualifying
· Four teams qualify to compete in each Division’s Championship.
· Winners of each Draw automatically qualify for each Division’s Championship.
· A team winning Draws in both the A and B Divisions will only qualify to play in the A Division Championship.
· To round out the field of 4 teams per Division, non Draw-winning teams are ranked with the highest ranking teams qualifying as Wild Cards. See Wild Card Ranking.
Wild Card Ranking
· Teams having played a minimum of 2 draws within a division are ranked based on overall record within that Division.
· Ties are broken in the same manner as ties for Draw Winners (see below).
Ø Draw Winner determined by record
o Tie Breaker 1: Record among those teams tied.
o Tie Breaker 2: Average points for games played among those teams tied.
o Tie Breaker 3: Average points for all games played.
o Tie Breaker 4: Coin flip.
Seeding
· The seeding is based on the overall win/lose record for each team in their respective Division (A or B). If records are tied then the points will determine the tie breaker. It is possible for a wildcard team to become a higher seed than a team that actually won a draw based on overall records.
· Winner of Draw 3 is seeded #1 unless they qualify to play in a different Division.
· Other seeds are determined by overall record within each Division.
· Ties are broken in the same manner as ties for Draw Winners (see above).
Schedule
· Playoff and Championship games are 8 ends, with extra ends as required.
· Playoff games are scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm.
· Championship games are scheduled: B league championship begins at 6:45pm and A league championship begins at 7:30pm.
· Higher Ranking Seed has choice of Hammer or Stones to start in all postseason games.
