THE DRAW 2008/2009

Last year the Colorado State Administrative Committee voted to change the procedure by which we conduct the Draw for regular season Compulsory and Optional Meets. There will no longer be a $30 fee for entry into the Draw. At the end of the Draw, each club will pay $60 for each session that they have drawn. We will use the same procedure this year.

  • The Draw will begin with each club that wishes to host a Compulsory Meet drawing a number.
  • The Draw will begin with the club with #1 and continue to the final number until all the dates have been drawn or no clubs wish to draw the remaining dates.
  • If a club does not wish to participate in the Optional Draw, the club would then pay $60 for the Compulsory sessions they bid for before the beginning of the Optional Draw. (e.g. Club XYZ bids for 1 session on 9/21, 3 on 10/20 and 2 on 11/3 Club XYZ would need to pay $360.)
  • The Optional Draw would begin at the completion of payment for Compulsory only clubs.
  • The Optional Draw will begin with each club that wishes to host an Optional Meet drawing a number.
  • The Draw will begin with the club with #1 and continue to the final number until all the dates have been drawn or no clubs wish to draw the remaining dates.
  • The Clubs participating in both draws or only the Optional Draw would now pay $60 per session for the total # of sessions drawn.
  • Should you need to add a session/s after the Draw is complete, please contact NAWGJ to add or notify the judges and pay COUSAG an additional $60 for each additional session.

For Your Information

This year the Level Coordinators will be the Meet Director of the gyms that are hosting that level’s state meet. These gyms will be assisted when necessary by a State Committee Member. That member will make sure that each director/level coordinator has a list of registered gymnasts from each club eligible to attend the meet at that level. The lists will be compiled after the clubs have finished registering their gymnasts and sent to the appropriate person by October 1. It is up to each club owner to apprise the level coordinator of any changes in level or new additions to his/her list.

Age groups for Level 4 and 5 State Meets will be set using the birthdates of the athletes. They will be divided into 5 equal groups to avoid unbalanced sessions. The process will be the same as used for Level 9/10. The age groups for Team Awards will be the same as the session age groups.

Background Checks have begun for all Pro Members. The cost will start at $20 and there will be additional fees for address and name changes. The back ground check will be done online by NCSI. More information can be found on the National Website at For those starting the process, please give yourselves plenty of time before your membership expires.
