She will send a copy of useful French words to go over with the children before the show.

She will bring 5 book kits for P3 teachers to use with their classes following the show (perhaps in the afternoon) to create their own Lapin story.

If you want to check out le Petit Monde in advance, here are some links.

Mara Menzies – Storyteller

We had originally thought Mara could roam the P1 and 2 classrooms, but I think given numbers, it would be a much better use of her time, if she is based in the school library and classes go along 2 at a time to hear stories. This would mean she can do 6 storytelling sessions throughout the morning. P1 and P2 teachers can decide which order they want to go in for the following slots:

9am
9.30am
10am
10.45am
11.15am
11.45am

Please try to ensure classes come and go promptly to allow for maximum storytelling time!

Mara joined us last year for coastword kids at the library, and stole the show. She tells vibrant, interactive stories, often tied to her Kenyan heritage.

Emily Dodd – Author

This show will take place in the hall as one big event for all of P1-3. It will last approx. one hour. Start time to be confirmed. This is an Ollie and the Otter event but includes the Grouse and the Mouse Story too and the dance from Can't-Dance-Cameron.

Children will also have the opportunity to purchase signed copies of Emily’s latest books. The publisher is going to send out some order sheets in advance I think.

Emily has sent the information sheet below for teachers.

Emily did a reading of Can’t-Dance-Cameron at Book Week Scotland at Bleachingfieldcentre a couple of years ago and captivated the children with her story, interactive dances and illustrations. Find out more below:
