Public Question Time

Public question time is a fifteen minute opportunity for members of the public to voice their concerns. Each person may speak for a maximum of three minutes. Speakers will address the Council through The Chair. Issues raised will be noted and responded to as appropriate. The Council will then address the business on the agenda. The public are welcome to remain but can take no further part in the proceedings unless by invitation of The Council.

3 Questions put forward by a member of the public. Can you please let me have further details of the following:-

1. Why is it important that a plaque should be put up for Barry Kristofferson, which has been suggested in the minutes I would be interested to know further details of this.

2. I cannot understand why the council approved planning permission for the Hall to change the use of bar for further rooms. Which effectively means that there will never any chance of that place to change back to a hotel, I think it's absolutely sacrilege.

3. I understand that on the Council. There is a member who does not live in the village, don't you think that they should stand down in matters that are related to village only.

1 New Woodland Management Plan for the property we know as Wilton North, which incorporates Nabgate and Wilton Heights Plantation at the top of Outgang Lane.

2 Complaint by a resident regarding litter left outside her house, in Chestnut Lane, and litter being placed in her hanging baskets. Request that another litter bin be placed closer to Balderstones

5 SLCC – North Yorkshire Branch Training Day and AGM

We are pleased to advertise this SLCC event: An invitation is extended to all clerks (SLCC non-members welcome) and councillors in the North Yorkshire area.

Topics covered include finance, audit, the role of the Clerk, remuneration of this officer and a council’s responsibilities as the employer. The event will provide an opportunity to gain expert knowledge and advice, network and meet SLCC area representatives. Lunch is included.
