AMBIENT CONDITIONS: EACH ITEM THAT FOLLOWS IN THIS SUPPLEMENT SHALL BE CARRIED OUT ON ALL THOMSON OPERATED AIRCRAFT FOR SUNWING WHENEVER THE AMBIENT CONDITIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS: AIRCRAFT IS ON THE GROUND FOR LONGER THAN 3 HOURS AND THE OAT IS BELOW -2°C
MECH / INSP
1. / If Landed in slush or snow, with Trailing Edge Flaps deployed, examine and remove any snow/slush obstructing slots and any moving parts before retracting flaps.
2. / Position horizontal stabilizer to 5 units, and ensure that the Leading Edge devices and Trailing Edge Flaps are in the retracted position.
3. / Ensure that the aircraft is adequately heated by either a ground heater or by the APU bleed system so as to prevent freezing of the water and waste system.
4. / Ensure that the Potable Water System is fully serviced upon arrival.
(Note: System Draining is mandatory if the aircraft remains on the ground for a period longer than 24 hours) / Water Drained?

5. / Ensure that the Toilet Waste Tank had been drained and serviced.

6. / Check to ensure no snow/ice build-up in the door threshold area to prevent door seals from freezing.
7. / Carry out Walk Around: Close all windows, Hatches, and Doors, Clean Any Ice Build-Up on Trailing Edge of Fan Blades and Check Fan for free rotation.
8. / Carry out Manual Outflow Valve Operation when using Ground Unit Supplied Heat.
(Refer to Ramp Overnight Parking Procedure)
ALERT: DO NOT CARRY OUT MANUAL OUTFLOW VALVE OPERATION IF THE AIRCRAFT HEAT IS SUPPLIED BY THE APU WHEN THE PACKS ARE SELECTED ON.
9. / If Forecasted Heavy Snow or Snow Storm – Install both Engine & Pitot Covers (Ensure all covers are fitted with legible Warning Flags).
10. / Enter into Aircraft Tech Log the Following Statement:
“Aircraft Parked I.A.W. Form 737-05-20-08. Ensure the Outflow Valve is in the ‘OPEN’ Position and the pressurization panel mode selector switch is set to ‘AUTO’.”
RAMP OVERNIGHT PARKING PROCEDURE:
1. / Ensure that the Aircraft is on the ground power or has APU electrical support.
2. / On the Pressurization Panel (P5 Overhead Panel), position the Mode Selector to ‘Manual’, a green light illuminates to show selection
3. / Move and hold the ‘Outflow Valve Switch’ to close the outflow valve to the ¾ closed position on the ‘Valve Position Indicator’
4. / Release the switch to the centred spring loaded position.
5. / Attach the ‘Remove before Flight’ warning tag (Flight Deck Pouch) to the outflow valve (Open/Close) switch on the Pressurization Panel.
6. / Ensure adequate heating is supplied to the aircraft prior to leaving.
7. / Close all cabin doors to prevent heat from escaping and for security reasons.
