Bienvenue à Montréal!

This year, Montreal goes all out while celebrating its 375th anniversary.

Throughout the year, hundreds of activities and events will highlight Montreal’shistory, creativity and savoir faire while aiming to reaffirm its pridein its past andcelebrate its presentwithits multicultural richness.

If you’re considering coming early or staying a few days more, may we offer you a few helpful guidelines, tools and suggestions to help you make your stay a memorable one.

For starters, visit Montreal’s 375th anniversary events site and check out what’s happening while you’re in town.

Nice to know…

As you may already know, Montreal is renowned for having unpredictable early spring weather that caninclude rain, heavy snowfall, even sub-zero temperatures. So better come prepared for just about any kind of weather.

With proper clothing(warm waterproof footwearand layers youcan add if needed), come rain or shine, you can enjoy walking Old Montreal's cobblestone streets and visit many of the city'smost popular attractions. March may not be the best time to experience drinks on the patiobut if we’re lucky, maybe you can come again some time...

Visit Montreal’s past in the present…a Techno-Historic Circuit

Roam the streets of Montreal to immerse yourself in the city's history, with over 60 unique items to discover (points of interest and augmented reality segments).

This might be the most accessible way to see “the complete” Montreal which has everyone roaming the streets of Montreal. Guided by an App one can download, follow the city's history and culture.

At night, enjoy CitéMémoire’s twenty different projected tableaux created by Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon in collaboration with Michel Marc Bouchard.

CitéMémoire is a poetic creation inspired by the history of Montreal. It will lead you to fascinating encounters with both unknown and famous characters who bring to life the richness and complexity of Montreal through time.

A web of opportunities…

Did you know that Montreal has anextensiveunderground web of tunnels that connects major downtownareas and buildings? Awonderful way to get out there and shop when weather is not cooperating. Now that’s a great insider’s tip!

Getting around fare and square…

While in town, remember that Montreal’s transit system offers many possibilities for you to get around:

1 day pass (10$)

3 day pass (18$)

Unlimited evening (5$)

Unlimited weekend (25.75$ - 15.75$ if over 65)

Weekly pass (25.75$ - 15.75$ if over 65)

Of course, one can always rely on a good old cab…

Taxi

Téo(a green cab option now available)

Uber

Culture or pleasure…

If museums, showsor casinosare your thing, they can all be found close here…

But if relaxation is more what you need, there are also plenty of place to unwind and feelpampered…

Scandinave(a close by classic Urban Spa)

Botabota(a close by Harbor Spa)

Strom (a bit further away on Nuns’ Island - oasis by the water, but worth the trip)

An overall view…

Should one have a few hours to see the city, why not start by making your way up to Mount Royal and get a bird’s eye view of it all. Anytime, day or night, grab the metro and a bus, take a cab or a Uber, whichever way gets you there, you won’t be disappointed!

A food experience for everyone…

It may not come to you as a surprise that through its rich ethnic diversity, Montreal has become quite a Food Hub. In season, one will find not only many fresh produce markets, specialty restaurants and shopsbut also some of the finest dining in North America.

Yet another fun and interesting feature of our food scene is our’bring your own wine(or beer)restaurants’ which allows you to spend all you want on food while still enjoying your favorite bottle of wine. Some of these places might lack a bit on fanciness, while others have a more humble service, but in the end, the food is always great and the wine, well inexpensive.

Simple enough, using your location’s postal code (the hotel postal code beingH2Y0A3), onecan locate the nearest SAQ store(wine, beerliquor store if you will). There just might be one on the way to your chosen restaurant!

All right now, we know you want to get to it! So our last pages offer a few culinary suggestions. So dig in!
