Dear Secretary

Surrey Police are pleased to host the 2015 PSUK 10 mile road race taking place on Wednesday 9th September starting at 1300 hours. Please find attached details of the event, and entry forms.

Venue

This will be at the Princess Royal Barracks, Brunswick Road, Deepcut, Camberley, Surrey, GU16 6RN

The course is a relatively flat, two lap course that takes place within the military barracks at Deepcut and Pirbright

Race entry fee

This is £10 per athlete.

Registration

This will take place from 1030 hours on Wednesday 9th September on the parade ground at the venue.

There will also be registration from 1900 to 2200 hours on Tuesday 8th September at the Leisure Bar at the Lakeside Complex. This is also the venue for the evening function (details below).

Prizes

Individual prizes will be awarded to the first three male and female athletes.

The following individual prizes will be awarded for the following veteran age categories :-

Male – First three in V40 and V45 age groups. [S1]First only in V50, V55 and V60.

Female – First three in V35 and V40 age groups. First only in V45, V50, V55[S2].

Team prizes –

Male – 1st / 2nd/ 3rd teams – six runners. Veterans – 1st team – six runners[S3].

Female – 1st / 2nd/ 3rd teams – four runners. Veterans – 1st team – four runners[S4].

Minor forces – 1st /2nd /3rd team –four runners for male and three for female.

Transport

Transport will be arranged to collect athletes arriving at either Gatwick or Heathrow airports on Tuesday 8th September and to return on Thursday 10th September.

If there are any other athletes arriving by train, then please inform me. The closest rail stations to the race venue are Camberley and Brookwood[S5].

There will be ample parking on the parade ground at the race venue.

Evening Function

This will be held at the Canal Suite at the Lakeside Country Club, Wharf Road, Frimley Green, Surrey, GU16 6PT.

This is less than a mile away from the race venue

The cost per person will be £25.00.

This will start at 1800 hours, with food being served at 1830 hours. There is either a chicken curry or chilli con carne with rice as a main course (both mild). Can you please indicate on the attached forms of which of these two options your team members would prefer.

There is also a vegetarian option. If there are any other dietary requirements, can you please inform me.

The presentation will take place from 1930 hours.

The dress code for the evening is smart casual.

Lakeside is the venue for the World Darts Championships. As a result, we are looking to have a fun darts competition held during the evening function.

The function will end at midnight.

This will be on a first come basis.

RULES AND DECLARATION
The Championship is a closed event and therefore NO FORCE may permit GUEST RUNNERS to participate. (Any infringement may result in team and individual disqualification).
  1. The race is an individual event incorporating a team championship. ALL runners competing for their Force MUST wear their Force colours, these Force colours must be stipulated on the Team Entry Sheets. The wearing of Earphones/iPods/mp3 players by athletes during the race is not permitted. Failure to comply with these rules will lead to disqualification by the race referee.
