Richmond Volleyball Club West Feb 19th, 2005
Tournament Information!!

This Weekend’s Tournament
The pairings are up! http://www.odrvb.com/Juniors/2004-2005/G15_02-19.htm

Tournament play will begin at 9am and we’re scheduled to work.
Our entire schedule is:
9am work
10am play

11am rest
12 play
1 play again.
2 rest
We’re part of a 4-team round-robin. Each match will be 3 games to 21, regardless of who wins the first 2 games. The top two teams on each net advance to playoffs.
à Note: For anyone who’s curious, this tournament is not seeded the way Monument was. (a) Notice that all the Richmond teams are the 1st team on their net. That’s just because they all live so close to the site. The 3rd and 4th teams on each net are normally the teams who had the furthest to travel. (b) However, the tournament director did try to spread the strongest teams among the 4 nets. Sometimes he guesses right. Other times not. We’ll see.

Leaving Roanoke On Friday.
à I’m going to pull out from Hardees near Tanglewood Mall at 4:300pm.
If anyone wants to caravan with me, that’ll be wonderful!!
If you want to meet me along the way, just let me know and we’ll be looking out for you.
à Distance to our hotel: Approx. 181 miles.

à If any of the girls want to ride with me, that’ll be cool.

WHILETHE PLAYERS AREWORKING
The team members will have to "work" a number of matches. That means one of our girls may be the1streferee,one will be an 2nd referee, 2 will be linespeople, and there will be 3 or 4 girls at the scoretable. However, all non-working girls will hang out with their teammates. They will not be playing cards, eating, exploring, sitting with parents, etc. Wewill be a team. Plus, the girls who don't know how to keep score can learn! They'll probably have to do it sometime this season!

WHENTHE PLAYERS ARE"RESTING"………...
Now...... that's free time. YES!! Girls may bring following: pillows, blankets, TV's, CD players, sleeping bags, school work, books, magazines, etc.One year the girls even brought a TV/VCR.
THE PLAYERS MAY NOTLEAVE EARLY
Often, we have to work one more time before we leave. So, if we're ever eliminated before the finals, you can pack the car, butplease don't pack the child yet!
AFTER WE'RE DONE
Many times we go out to eat a team supper. This will NEVER be mandatory for players or for parents.
