Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Think about what a grace it would be for the opportunity to spend one hour a week with our Lord! We must have people committed to and present at each hour while the Blessed Sacrament is exposed. Please prayerfully consider committing to one hour each weekto be with Our Lord in Adoration. STEWARDSHIP: Please make your 2015 Pledge if you have not done so, by using one of the pledge forms found on the table in the Narthex. Persons making pledges will receive offertory envelopes upon request. Blank envelopes are available on the table in the Narthex. Please clearly print your name if you take a box.

The Campaign for the Archbishop’s Appeal will begin on Sunday, Feb. 22nd. If you receive a letter from the Appeal’s office, and you choose to send a donation directly, please be sure and put the parish name on the envelope so we receive credit as a parish. This year, our parish goal is $30,292. We can meet this goal if everyone gives their share of $100 per registered household.

Our Lady of the Atonement Ladies’ Group: We hope you will be able to join us for our next prayer gatheringon Thursday, Feb. 19th at 10:00amat The Atonement Academy conference room. Since this is the day after Ash Wednesday, we will have an opportunity to reflect on the true meaning of Lent and our commitments to our spiritual growth.

SCIENCE FAIR RESULTS: We are very proud of our Science Fair winners in the Upper School: In 9th Grade, 1st Place went to John Karako, for “The Effects of Different Quenchants on the Integrity of Welds.” Mariana Garcia took 2nd Place, Daniel Henriquez took 3rd. ● In 10th Grade, 1st Place went to Abigail Brady, studying “How Dimethyltryptamine Could Affect Obsessive Compulsive Patients: A Meta-analysis.” Luke Griego took 2nd Place, Meg McDonough took 3rd Place. ● In 11th Grade, 1st Place went to Ana Henriquez, studying “The Effect of Differing Amounts of Caffeine on the Regeneration Rate and Stem Cell Production in Lumbriculus variegatus.” Mary Henriquez took 2nd Place, and Jessica Tuholsky took 3rd. ● In 12th Grade, 1st Place was a tie, and went to Melody Logsdon for “The Effect of Sleep Deprivation on Adult Hippocampal Neurogenesis in Mice,” and sharing the 1st Place was Jonathon DuBois, studying “The Result of Air Pressure on a Projectile Launched From a Rail-Gun.” Rachel Weems and Sierra Chauvin rounded out the judges’ awards. There were many Honorable Mentions from the judges’ panel in each of the grade levels. ● We are especially grateful to those who sacrificed their time to serve on the panel of judges: Dr. Ana Vallor, Dr. Flor de Maria Garcia-Wukowitz, Dr. Carla Whittaker, Dr. Seab Smith, Dr. Chad Hivnor, Dr. Martin Sablik, Dr. Jorge Guell, Dr. Christopher Pierce, Mr. Fred Daring, Mr. Zachary Adian, Dr. David Starkey, Dr. Robert Miranda, Mrs. Celia Keller, and Mrs. Monica Shafer. We thank Dr. Michael Vallor, Department Chair of the Science Department for his tremendous work with our students, as well as the other members of the faculty who teach science. We look forward to another great year at the Archdiocesan competition, as well as the ARASE (Alamo Regional Science and Engineering Fair). Six entries from the academy are participating this weekend at ARASE: Ana Henriquez, Daniel Henriquez, Luke Cannon, along with three of our Middle scholars: Aditi Singh, Maria Torres, and Asa Waterman.

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday this week. It is a day of Fasting and Abstinence from meat. Please see the insert in today’s bulletin and post it to your refrigerator during Lent so that you have a reminder of the discipline of the Church. Ashes will be imposed during the scheduled Masses (listed above). If possible, please attend the 7:00am, 11:30am or 7:00pm Masses on that day. We already have 600 people attending the 9:20am Mass.
