Darlington Youth Offending Service (YOS) provides services to help prevent and reduce crime and disorder by young people. We work to re-shape young people’s perception of themselves and their world by, on the one hand, confronting them with the consequences of their actions; and on the other, giving them life opportunities outside crime.

We require a full-time Reparation Worker to help us meet the challenge and provide a range of services to young people aged 10-17, inclusive. You will have an awareness of the issues raised by working with young people and an enthusiasm for working with those within the youth justice remit. Experience of working with disengaged young people in a community setting and a willingness to undertake Youth Justice Board qualifications is essential. Your principal responsibilities will be:

- To assist in the development and deliver of restorative justice projects.

- To supervise Young people in a range of Reparation projects, in small groups and on a one to one basis. This will include evening and weekend working.

- To assist colleagues within the service in the delivery of various Court Orders and Pre-Court Disposals.

- To maintain accurate records in line with YOS procedures.

- To ensure client files are maintained to a high standard in accordance with Youth Justice Board (YJB) National Standards.

The successful applicant for this post will have an excellent understanding of the current best practices in this very important part of the key stage. Knowledge and experience of working with Upper Key Stage 2 would be advantageous. The areas of expertise that will be expected to be demonstrated include an expertise in the teaching of Numeracy and Literacy and the ability, knowledge and experience to take a subject leadership role in one of ICT, Music or PE

We also require a teacher to cover for a maternity leave in a mixed age class of Y4/5 Key Stage 2 children located at Heighington CE Primary School.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with the 14 -19 Team to deliver the reform agenda for young people in Darlington. The 14 -19 Team provides support for education providers and other agencies working with young people.

The successful candidate will provide project officer support for the 14 -19 Team based within School Improvement and Development, have previous admin/clerical experience, excellent research and IT skills and an interest in wider Children’s Services developments including 14 -19. We are looking for someone who is able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team, with experience of interpreting legislation, policy or procedures. They will be responsible for responding to enquiries, developing and managing administrative / information systems, minute taking, undertaking research, data analysis and delivering projects.

An opportunity has arisen within the Learning Disability Service for two full time Care Co-ordinators to work in an innovative, forward thinking integrated team. The service consists of community nurses, social workers, medicine, psychology and other allied health professionals.

You will be responsible for assessment, care planning, and the commissioning of creative, individual packages of care to meet assessed needs. You will work in a person centred way and undertake person centred planning, reviews and the evaluation of care plans. Good relationships with the provider trust are an intrinsic facet of this service and in addition this is an exciting time as the service is rolling out the full implementation of the personalisation agenda.

You will be professionally qualified with post qualification experience in the learning disability field and have a working knowledge of Valuing People Now and other relevant legislation/guidance.

The Branch Committee is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic administrator to carry out the day to day running of the Branch Office including being the first point of contact for member enquiries, manage the general administrative tasks of the office, mange the branch secretary’s diary, liaise with other Branch Officers and Stewards and report to the Branch Committee including the organisation and distribution of the agenda, reports and minutes.

The ideal candidate will possess good administrative skills, have sound IT skills including experience of dealing with various packages of Microsoft Office, use of a database, and be able to prioritise tasks in this busy office.

The post will require you to work both alone and also with other branch officers.

Although previous local government experience is not essential, candidates must have an understanding of, and support, the values of UNISON, the trade union movement and public sector employee issues.
