AGS Transfer Scholarship

As AGS members we know the hard work and dedication through out every semester.AGS cares about their members and year after year is determined to raise enough funds to help not only our community, but the students that make all this possible, you guys! We would like to award those that have shown excellence in academics as well as participation in AGS events.

This scholarship awards $1000 for your academic career.

Requirements for Scholarship

  1. Current full-time LMC student transferring in Fall 2017, as a junior, to a four-year college or university
  2. Be an Active or permanent member of AGS in good standing
  3. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2
  4. Complete scholarship application received on or before the DEADLINE May 5, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the general meeting.
  5. Copy of unofficial transcriptsfrom LMC (and DVC if applicable)
  6. Copy of your AGS point sheet for this Spring semester 2017
  7. Complete a two-full-page essay that includes:Academic attributes, community involvementand a simple autobiographical summary. Typed: Times New Roman 12 pt. font double spaced.
  8. You must be present at the AGS Banquet on May 12, 2017 where the winner will be announced

Rules and Regulations

  1. Members who are currently in grace period may NOTapply for the scholarship.
  2. For Permanent members, they must have been active for the past two semesters (Fall AND Spring).
  3. Must be present at the AGS end of the year banquet in order to receive the award. If not present, the award will be handed to the next best applicant.
  4. Members currently serving on the officer board CANNOT apply for the scholarship.
  5. Failure to submit the application by the deadline will result in the applicant’s application to be null and voided.
  6. Applications will be reviewed by the AGS officer board. Applications will be blinded so as to not encourage bias.
  7. Failure to follow all the requirements will void applicant’s application
  8. Permanent members applying for the scholarship must have completed at least 15 of the 30 points required to be considered a participating, active member of AGS.
