AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT CLASS DESCRIPTIONS SPRING 2018
Note: The cost for Wood Workshop, Claytime, Lego Technic and Ceramics is $50 per session.
All others are $40 per session
CLAYTIME: Mixed Media – Grades: Kindergarten- 5th The first week you will paint a piece of pottery. Each week following, you will get to vote what the next project will be. Will it be a stuffed animal, a mosaic, a beaded necklace, or another piece of painted pottery? Note: Fee is $50 per session.
Harry Potter- Grades: 3rd- 5th Hogwarts is coming to Sutton Elementary School. All wizards in training and muggles are invited to attend. Have fun exploring the magical world of Harry Potter. Knowledge of the books will be helpful.
I Survived…..Blizzards- Grades: 3rd-5th This program takes an in-depth look at the natural phenomenon of Blizzards and gives students a chance to complete hands-on STEAM projects related to the topic. Get ready to be blown away!
Karate-Grades: Kindergarten-3rd Martial Arts Enrichment with Sensei Sarah will help instill and reinforce the basic core values of respect, courtesy and politeness. Developing skills and building character are achieved through the practice of drills.
LEGO Technic – Grades: 3rd-5th. Build your own LEGO Technic with movable parts! We’ll also explore building some simple machines from LEGOs and have some creative fun with free building. Note: Fee is $50 per session.
Spanish Language and Culture-Grades: Kindergarten- 5th Get ready to learn about the culture of Spain! You will learn some basic Spanish and will sing songs and play games. You will complete crafts and decide which is your favorite Spanish festival.
Violin- Grades: Kindergarten-5th Introductory violin lessons allow students to learn at their own pace. A violin will be provided for each child to practice with during the entire session.
Wood Workshop- Grades: Kindergarten – 2nd If one weekend a month at Home Depot is not enough for you aspiring builders, then wood workshop is for you. Each week you will assemble a new project all on your own. Note: Fee is $50 per session.
Indoor Games-Grades: 3rd -5th We will play dodgeball, kickball, floor hockey, tag, races, and more! Anything to get kids moving their bodies. There will be lots of running, so wear sneakers and comfortable clothes.
Ceramics-Grades: 3rd -5th This class is an introduction to the medium of clay. Students will create varied and exciting projects using hand building techniques. Note: Fee is $50 per session.
Rubber Stamping-Grades: 2nd -5th This class will teach rubber stamping techniques. We will make greeting cards, scrapbook pages, and gift wrap.
Flavorful Fun-Grades: Kindergarten-2nd Join Kim from Enchanted Passage and explore some interesting ways to make food more fun. Make, decorate and eat a variety of no cook foods.
Imagination 101-Grades: 3rd -5thAn introduction to applying Imagination and Creativity. All of us are born with it— but what do we do with it? This class helps kids see some possibilities and learn some ways they can develop and nurture their creativity.
Around the World- Grades: Kindergarten-2nd Travel to different parts of the world, read stories, make crafts, and enjoy foods.
