.2 Except where otherwise specified, comply with applicable requirements of Canadian Sheet Steel Building Institute standards.

.3 Do welding in accordance with CSA W59-M1989.

1.3 SHOP DRAWINGS

.1 Comply with requirements of Division 1.

.2 Shop drawings shall indicate decking plan, joints, anchorages, supports, projections, opening and reinforcement, details and accessories.

2. Products

2.1 MATERIALS

.1 Sheet Steel:to ASTM A653M96, zinc coated to [Z275] [ZF075] coating designation.

.2 Touch-Up Primer for Galvanized Steel:zinc-rich, organic, ready mixed, to CAN/CGSB1.181-92.

3. Execution

3.1 FABRICATION

.1 Fabricate deck sections to CSAS136-94 and to dimensions indicated on drawings.

.2 Provide a male and female lip for each section of steel deck.

3.2 ERECTION

.1 Reinforce steel deck openings shown on the drawings unless otherwise noted.

.2 Structurally support all edges of openings cut into the deck.

.3 Install decking according to design sheet widths and depths. Correct sheet spread during installations.

.4 Button clinch sidelaps of adjacent sections at not greater than 600mm on centre and at each end of a section, 25mm clear of the lip ends.

.5 Connect steel deck to supporting member by 20mm diameter plug welds at 300mm on centre.

.6 Make connection welds by burning through deck with welding electrode and follow by puddling in the burned hole.

.7 Weld steel decking side sections running parallel to a framing or supporting member with 20mm diameter plug welds at not greater than 750mm on centres with a weld at each end of the sections, 25mm clear of the section end.

.8 Attach metal cell closures at locations required to contain poured concrete, roof boundaries, and around openings in deck.

.9 Wire brush, clean and touch-up welds and scarred areas on top surfaces of metal decking with touch-up primer.
