GATHERING AROUND THE WORD

*Call to WorshipPsalm 121

Leader: I lift up my eyes to the hills – where does my help come from?

People: My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

Leader: He will not let your foot slip – He who watches over you will not slumber;

People: Indeed, He who watches over His people will neither slumber nor sleep.

Leader: The Lord watches over you – the Lord is your shade at your right hand;

People: The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

Leader: The Lord will keep you from all harm – He will watch over your life;

People: The Lord will watch over your coming and going, both now and forevermore.

Unison: Praise the Lord!

*Hymn "Give Praise to the Lord"#257 Invocation

The Lord’s Prayer (Unison)

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

CONFESSION OF SIN & ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Call to Confession(Unison)

Lord God, Maker of heaven and earth, you provide for our every need. You watch over us, protect us, and keep us from harm. Though you are faithful, we have sinned against you. We deceive ourselves, thinking we can provide for our own needs. We doubt your promises to provide. We chase after those things we think will give us security, rather than finding our security in you. We place our trust in money and possessions, rather than giving in obedience. Give us peace and confidence in your love, and you alone. Forgive us of these sins, and those which burden our hearts.

Hear now the confession of our hearts.

(A time of Silent Prayer)

Amen

Assurance of Pardon

*Gloria PatriGreatorex

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be World without end, Amen, Amen.

*Affirmation of Faith

Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body

and the life everlasting. Amen.
