Salary:circa£23,000

Responsible to: PR and Fundraising Director

Hours: 37 ½ per week

Job Summary: Working closely with the PR and Fundraising Director, you will be responsible and accountable for developing new partnerships from a broad range of companies, groups and associations whilst building relationships with individuals and supporter groups to maximise income and awareness. The role will also include further developingawareness of Amber and generating income through the charity’s and other income generating websites.

Main tasks and duties:

  • To develop and manage all aspects of community and events fundraising ensuring they arerun effectively and are well planned, marketed and supported.
  • To identify fundraising prospects and supporters.
  • To secure and work with third party fundraising activities, including organising and attending events.
  • To devise and implement realistic plans, in consultation with the PR and Fundraising Director, which clearly show how financial targets will be achieved.
  • To develop awareness of Amber and generate income through the charity’s and other income generating websites.
  • Provide support at events when required, this may involve evening and weekendworking and time spent away from home.
  • To maintain prompt, accurate and accessible records of all financial and supporter data.
  • To work with local media to maximise publicity and awareness of Amber and its activities.
  • Cash handling, banking, acknowledging and receipting income in accordance with Amber’s policies and procedures
  • To service own administrative needs.

  • To ensure that Amber’s policies and procedures are being adhered to,particularly those relating to Health and Safety, Code of Practice andConfidentiality.

Key criteria / Essential / Desirable
Experience / Raising funds in a community settingincluding supporting individuals undertaking fundraising events.
Recent experience of organising
successful fundraising events.
Successful track record of raising income from a variety ofcommunity sectors.
Experience in writing anddelivering presentations to a wide audience. / Experience of working with local press/media and producing press releases, photo opportunities etc.
Skills and knowledge / Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong PC skills.
Strong knowledge of the internet.
Proven ability to organise workload and meet deadlines.
Clear understanding of the role of fundraising within the charity sector. / Successful track record of fundraising from the internet.
Personal qualities / Excellent organisational skills.
Self motivator.
Excellent networking and relationship building skills.
Excellent social interaction skills.
