THIS DAY IN HISTORY TIMELINE
History remembers the winners, not always the losers; the events that were “change- makers”, notalways the small achievements- but that doesn’t mean these events were not important.
You will be telling the story of the history of your life by creating a timeline of significant events that have taken place in the course of your lifetime and then comparing them to events that happened on that same day in history using the categories from Trivial Pursuit to guide you: Geography (blue), Entertainment (pink), History (yellow), Arts & Literature (brown), Science & Nature (green), and Sports & Leisure (orange).
STEP 1: Choose your 8 different events and the dates as accurately as possible. There should be a range of the types of events. (At least one from each category)
STEP 2: Now, using the websites listed below, find out what also happened on that day in history between 1492 and 1877. Be sure to include:
- The day, month and year
- The category (at least one event from each category)
- A short description (1-2 sentences in YOUR OWN WORDS) of what happened on that day
