This Annex contains standard conditions to be included in all Contribution Agreements under Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) Science and Technology Internship Program (STIP).
The Recipient agrees to:

- provide supervision, training, and direction to the intern to ensure a meaningful work experience;
NRCan is a participant in the Federal Government’s Employment Equity initiatives, and is committed to having a workforce that is representative of the public we serve.
- assume responsibility for payment of wages and any other approved costs pertaining to the internship;
NRCan is a participant in the Federal Government’s Employment Equity initiatives, and is committed to having a workforce that is representative of the public we serve.
- acknowledge the financial assistance of the Government of Canada and NRCan;
NRCan is a participant in the Federal Government’s Employment Equity initiatives, and is committed to having a workforce that is representative of the public we serve.
- provide NRCan with the intern’s personal information for program reporting purposes (i.e., name, age, gender, academic degree, Employment Equity Designated Group Member, etc.);
NRCan is a participant in the Federal Government’s Employment Equity initiatives, and is committed to having a workforce that is representative of the public we serve.
- provide the intern with a completed performance evaluation at the end of the internship;
NRCan is a participant in the Federal Government’s Employment Equity initiatives, and is committed to having a workforce that is representative of the public we serve.
- assist the intern in securing longer term attachment to the Canadian labour market;
- complete a postinternship questionnairefor NRCan; and
- secure a commitment from the intern to complete a postinternship questionnaire. The intern shall be informed, in advance, that Natural Resources Canada may use his/her work experience comments and/or provide them to Human Resources and Skills Development Canada for promotional and/or publication purposes. The intern has the right to indicate in the questionnaire, his/her refusal for reproductionof any comments.
Financial conditions:
NRCan is a participant in the Federal Government’s Employment Equity initiatives, and is committed to having a workforce that is representative of the public we serve.
- The maximum contribution per internship from the Science and Technology Internship Program fund will be $13,200 over a maximum of 52 weeks.
- The Recipient agrees to match Science and Technology Internship Program funding with at least an equal amount in salary.
