Communication and Logistics

In order to develop a partnership of some depth, we suggest that you meet once a month, and conduct a quick email or phone check-in between meetings.

Are you aware of scheduling conflicts that prevent meetings, or email/phone communications? If so, list them here:

We encourage you to discuss what the best method of communication will be for you (phone, email, instant messenger, or some combination, etc…). It may be most convenient and dependable to set a certain day/time each month to meet and email with each other. Please list your desired means of communication and your meeting plan:

Assessment and Feedback

How will you assess progress towards your goals? (One example would be to review your goals at the beginning of each monthly meeting and discuss next steps.)

How will both of you give and receive feedback? (One example would be to agree to check in at the end of each conversation regarding what might be helpful to both of you in conversations following.)

If a problem arises, please note how you will deal with the situation together. (One way might be to decide together to communicate any issues immediately. Each person agrees to listen to the issue, and the solution is developed as a team.)

Professional Conduct

Professional conduct is central to this voluntary mentor program. Students and alumni participating in the program, whether on-campus or off, remain subject to college rules and policies. See addendum for these policies.
