* Please sign and return all report card envelopes.

* Red Ribbon Week 10/24-10/28: Monday- “Wear Red to Stop Drugs”- Wear a red shirt, Tuesday- “Sock it to Drugs”-Wear silly or mismatched socks, Wednesday-“It is Crazy to Do Drugs”- Crazy Hair Day, Thursday- “Put a Cap on Drugs”- Wear a cap or hat, Friday- “Team Up Against Drugs”- Wear your favorite sports team or school shirt.

* Thanksgiving lunch will be on Friday, November 18th. Please remember that all Thanksgiving lunches should be prepaid for visitors. The cost for an adult lunch is $5.25 and a child guest is $3.75. Please send in your payment along with your invitation by October 27th.

* Breitling Elementary will be conducting a food drive for the Citizens for a Better Grand Bay Food Bank. Please send in non-perishable food items for the rest of October and the first week of November.

Atlatl – a tool used for throwing a spear / Bow and arrow- a weapon that uses a bow to shoot an arrow.
Harvesting- gathering crops when they are grown.
Pottery- bowls, pots, or dishes made of baked clay.
Wigwam- a dome-shaped hut or tent made by woven mats or wooden poles.
Palisade- a fence made of wooden poles placed upright in the ground.
Earth mounds- a hill made of earth, gravel, sand, or rocks.
Three sisters- a name for the corn, beans, and squash grown by Native Americans
Wattle and daub- a mixture of twigs, mud, and clay used to build walls.
Population- the number of people in a town or place.
Longhouse- a rectangular shaped home that has more than one room.
