WHERE TO GO IF YOU NEED HELP

Office Hours: Monday & Wednesday: 3:30-4:30

2. After School Tutoring – Available in the Macland Computer Lab on Tuesday & Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5:00. You must arrange this with your teacher before you can attend. Teachers have to be made aware of what assignments students need to work on to ensure their assignments will be available from the tutor when students sign in for tutoring.

3. Peer Tutoring – Complete an application and you will be assigned a peer tutor. Tutoring can take place before school, after school or during lunch and will be supervised in a specific location.

BYOD (Bring Your Own Device):

We will be participating in McEachern’s Bring Your Own Device (BYOD). Students are encouraged to bring their own technology devices to school to assist their learning experiences in the classroom. Students may be given certain assignments where the use of a handheld device may be helpful and appropriate. This is not required for every student. If you decide you want to participate in BYOD, parents and students MUST complete and sign the permission form located on the class blog.

WHEN BYOD IS NOT IN USE: Students are not allowed to use or have out any electronic device during any class period regardless of where they are on campus. Students who are caught with a device will receive an automatic one day of ISS for the first offense, two days ISS for the second offense and OSS for each subsequent offense.

Classroom Expectations:

All classroom rules are based on common courtesy and responsible behavior. The policies of the school as outlined in the student handbook will be strictly enforced. In addition to said policies, the following will be expected in this class.

  1. Be prompt! This applies to being in class and seated when the bell rings as well as being on time with assignments. I follow the McEachern High School tardy policy!
  2. Be prepared! Have textbook, notebook, paper, pen, etc. with you every day. Time will not be provided to study for tests or to complete homework so be prepared.
  3. Be polite! Common courtesy is expected at all times. We are all in this together!
  4. Be respectful! This applies to respectful behavior towards teachers, staff and fellow students. Please be respectful of each other’s property, space and feelings in behavior as well as speech.
  5. Be alert! No sleeping or “resting” in class or expect lunch detentions or write ups. It is your job to know what is going on in class discussions or activities.

Cell phone use in the classroom is for academic purposes ONLY. Appropriate times for the use of electronic devices will be discussed. IF YOUR ELECTRONIC DEVICE IS BEING USED AT AN INAPPROPRIATE TIME, MCEACHERN POLICY WILL BE ENFORCED. That means you can expect a referral to an administrator, no questions asked. If I see said devices anywhere on your person during exams, I will assume you are cheating and you will automatically be given grade of zero.
