What services do you provide? / ​Class registration, Youth Program registration, picnic shelter reservation, room rentals, outreach, community information on Parks, Recreation services to include museums, parks, special events, programs, athletics, facilities and more. Weather/closing updates for facilities and programs posted as needed. Applications are posted for programs (Ride On Bus Passes, Food Vendor Applications, Community Garden Applications) as PDF files.

What do you like about the content you currently provide on the website? / We like the links to individual program sites. We like the main page has links to separate parks and recreation activities so you don’t have to navigate through everything (we decide on the navigation). We like the ability to instantly update content (weather updates for events on weekends/evenings) and update content as programs are added/changed. We like to write all the copy since we interact with the public and we are aware of what information they typically seek about our programs/facilities (we make changes based on the feedback from the public). We like that we that there is no restrictions on the amount of content we can post on the site.
What do you dislike about the content you currently provide on the website? / We dislike the lack of dynamic content- no photo slide shows or interactive maps. We dislike that that we cannot set a distinctive visual style for our pages (we were restricted from setting our own heading styles, font colors, etc.). We do not find the calendar attractive/useful. The structure of the site (including the only navigation being Services and Resources) forced us to create our own internal navigation for our site). Did not like/use A-Z directory.
Individual pages such as nnparks, redefiningplay, cultural arts sites pages are more appealing promotionally. We need to attract citizens to our events and programs, they aren’t just coming to our website to find out information – we have to sell something to them. Our links to our individual sites do that.
From a maintenance stand point, did not like how you could not group transfer images or documents (slow process for naming and posting each element individually).
