These ideas are *NOT* mine. I have collected these from the different message boards I visit.

Continents, continents,
Do you know your continents?
North, South, East, West,
All around the world.
Asia, Africa, North and South America,
Australia, Antarctica, and Europe, too.

Say it in a sing-song voice (Con-tin-ents, Con-tin-ents, Do you know your con-tin-ents...)
Kids love it.

to the tune (roughly) of "one hundred bottles of beer on the wall":

There's North America, South America,
Europe and Asia, too,
Africa, Australia, but
Antarctica's not for you, HEY!!

Get one of those big world maps, unlabeled, and put it on the wall. Sing the song as the kids slap the continents with a flyswatter. They love this.

I have a song my Spec. Ed. class learned in one day and by the second day they could label the 7 continents. I goes with the tune of "Are You Sleeping; Brother John"

It goes like this:
North America (hold up your right hand and the students will hold up their left hand), Europe (touch your nose), Asia (hold up your left hand and it will be the students right hand), Africa (take your hands and start at the center of your waist near your bellybutton and move your hands around your waist), South America (put your right hand on your knee the students left hand), Austrilia (put your left hand on your left knee), Antartica (have the students stomp on the floor)

All together it is:
North America, Europe, Asia
Africa, Africa
South America, Austrilia,
Antartica, Antartica.

Sung to "100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall"

To learn the 7 continents
Think of the letter A
And when you're down to only 1
An E will save the day!

There Africa, Antarctica
Australia, Asia too.
An ocean runs between them
With waters deep and blue.

There's also 2 America's
North and south you see
Now we're coming to the end
Europe starts with E!

We even sing it over the intercom during morning announcements each year!

The child becomes a "globe." This is sung to the tune of "Are You Sleeping?" It goes:

North America, Europe, Asia,
Africa, Africa,
South America, Australia,
Antartica, Antarctica

The motions for each continent as you sing its name are ...

Raise right hand and point slightly to the right, then touch the nose with both index fingers, then raise the left hand and point slightly to the left. Turn both hands over, palms up, fingers slightly touching and move them in a "sawing" motion at the waist. Reach over with the left hand and touch the right knee, then reach over with the right hand and touch the left knee. Stiffen arms and legs and stiffly step in place (like penguins).

Works like a charm!!!
