The Waste Authority’s Infinity Awards acknowledge and celebrateoutstanding achievementsof Western Australian local governments, industry and community members that contribute to the Waste Strategy’s objectives and targets.

There are six categories of awards, each with specific eligibility criteria:

  • Business (nominee must be a business)
  • Community (nominee must be a community organisation)
  • Local government (nominees must be a local government or regional council)
  • State Government agency and university (nominee must be State Government agency or a university)
  • Waste Wise Schools (nominees must be accreditedWaste Wise Schools)
  • Waste Champion (open)

Winners will be announced at the Waste Authority’s Infinity Awards breakfast event at the Waste and Recycle Conference on 14 September 2017.

The judges’ decision is final and not subject to appeal.

Submitting a nomination

To allowthe judges to evaluate your achievements you must:

  • complete the application form
  • address the assessment criteria

You can nominate yourself, your organisation or someone else. Please ensure that the person or organisation you nominate will accept the nomination.

You can nominate for more than one categoryprovided you are eligible for each category. You must submit a separate nomination form for each category in which you nominate.

Nomination forms can be submitted at Infinity Awards nomination.

Important information
  • Read the Nomination Tips to maximise your chances.
  • The nominated achievement must address one or more solid waste streams as its primary focus. Nominations should not focus on waste water or electricity.
  • Documentary evidence
Where possible, include media clippings and other material to support your nomination.
  • Photos and images
Where possible, include photos and images to support your application
  • Naming support documents
Please clearly identify the nominee, project and nature of the supporting document in its filename. For example, Community Chest-new cardboard crusher-newspaper article.pdf
  • Substantiation of claims
Judges may visit nominees or their premises to verify the claims made in nominations and/or commission independent assessments. Unsubstantiated claims will render a nomination ineligible.
  • Use of materials
All documents, photos and images submitted with a nomination become the property of the Waste Authority and will not be returned to entrants.
By making a nomination, you agree that the Waste Authority has permission to use any photographs or images included with the nomination (at no cost) from all parties that appear in those photographs or images.
Nominees must be willing to participate in publicity activities and allow information, including photographs included with nominations, to be reproduced for promotional purposes.
Nominees may be asked to provide additional material for promotional purposes.
