Energy as a Resource

There are many energy sources:

¤  Renewable: wind, water, geothermal, solar, biomass

¤  Non-renewable: oil, coal, natural gas

We get most of our energy from non-renewable energy sources, which include the fossil fuels: oil, coal and natural gas.

We us these energy sources for our homes, businesses, schools, factories.

Electricity “energizes” our computers, lights, fridges, washing machines, just to name a few.

We us energy to run our cars and trucks. Both the gas in our cars and diesel in our trucks are made from oil.

The propane used to fuel our bbq is made from oil and natural gas.
