Dear Friends,

I hope you are all keeping well as we are all here at the Centre.

I want to thank you all again for your great support for what we do here in Durham.

The people who are active in the Cayce work in America, all come together in Virginia Beach for what is called 'Congress' and they share ideas with one another. I was grateful to be able to spend a few hours speaking with them and telling them what is going on here in Isaiah's Islands. Verse 1 in both Ch 41 and Ch. 49. They were very impressed with the idea of individuals doing the study group work by themselves as I had the children doing in school. I think some of them will introduce the idea to their own people. That's what I gave to them. But, to my mind what they gave to me was just as good.

My parents left their children to make their own decisions in life and they went to extraordinary extremes to guarantee that we could do this and learn, while still young, to stand on our own two feet. But, what I did see right through my young days was that my mother spent every day praying for us to be right in our thinking, to do right and to think kindly of others. She actually prayed for us all day long while she knitted pullovers to feed us. My grandmother looked after the needs of our bodies. I should have told you that I used to read minds when I was a child, so I always knew in those days, what my mother was thinking. But don't worry, I stopped doing it while I was still young.

This memory of all the praying my mother did for her children was brought back to me very strongly in Virginia when I heard about the prayer groups that are being set up on the internet by individuals, who get volunteers to join them to pray for their country and this whole Earth of ours, as well as for the needs of individuals, at particular times every day. For people who are sick and ask for prayers, they ask them to renew their requests once a month. In other words, they take off the names of those who ask for healing or blessings at the end of every month, to make sure that the person is serious about getting better and they apply again. I am giving you the idea here and maybe some of you will have the courage to set up such groups on the internet. Should you do so, I will put your e-mail addresses in the next newsletter and pray that the idea can take wing. I can see it working very well. Further on in this newsletter I've written about this idea, particularly for those of you who don't have a computer and are not on the internet, like myself.

A professional golfer, Simon Elliott needed a caddy to try to get into the R and A Open Golf Championship that took place in Troon in mid July. Many of you will know his wife: Myra Evans, she gives readings. As I needed some exercise I decided to caddy for him. I did one round in Leeds and two rounds in Scotland and as I write this my legs don't know whither they're coming or going. When people like Colin Montgomery find it difficult to make it, Simon stood little chance: he's a teaching professional, not a playing professional. The reason I'm telling you this story is that had we been successful, Simon and myself had decided to give anything he won to help feed the children in Ethiopia. This is one of the charities the centre already helps and having failed in our venture, a wicked thought came into my mind. I know we have approximately 6,000 readers and if we all had the courage to give a pound a head, what a gift to Action Aid that would be. The problem here is that there's no way to handle cheques for £1. The banks don't want to handle them. So, I decided that should 20% of us give £5 each, it would be of great help. Ethiopians, especially the children, suffer more and more every year because of the climate changes. They are our brothers and sisters, whether we like the idea or not and this Winter, thousands of children will die of starvation. As I will be giving half of the profits we make at our conference in September to these children, should any of you take me up on the idea, you can make your cheques payable to THE EDGAR CAYCE CONFERENCE ACCOUNT and this will keep all the money in one account. I'll make sure that every penny you send will be sent to Action Aid when the accounts are finalised at the end of September. An after thought for you: Edgar recommended walking as the best exercise we can do and I sure see now why he recommended it. My legs are tired but I feel great.

When you apply for the conference, should you be a vegan or a vegetarian or wish to have a room on the first floor, please let us know, otherwise I will just assume that you'll be happy with chicken or fish for the main courses and that you won't mind climbing an extra flight of stairs. I think that this is the best way to handle this as people are not always the best at returning sheets of paper sent out from the Centre. Our meal on the Friday evening will no longer be a buffet. We'll have a normal meal this year.

I will close this letter by sending you all our love and I want to say a special thank you, to you all, but especially those who make this work possible in Durham for the love, support and gifts you send us to help us along the way.

Sincerely,

John Walsh.

In Reading 3162-001 Edgar told the mother of a four year old girl: "Be patient. Do not scold. Do not speak harshly. Do not fret nor condemn the body mind. But do tell it daily of the love that Jesus had for little children, of peace and harmony; never those stories such as of the witch, never those as of fearfulness of any great punishment, but love, patience. This do, and we will find a great, a wonderful soul, that has come again to bless many."

As we only get together once a year, John thought it would be an opportunity that should not be missed. Other years, quite a few of us didn't know how to pass those few hours on Saturday night. Should John's solution work this year, he will probably repeat it again.

For those of you who wish to have a light hearted discussion as well as listen to John speak for an hour or so about the Universe, how the Solar System with its planets came into being and why! How the magnetic fields were created and how they help us. What happens if we have a pole shift. John will speak about why we are here and where we are going to in the future, including the changes that will probably come about. He will be pleased to give others an opportunity to share with the rest of us material that is relevant or not relevant to the main line of thought as described above. We will all vote on what is relevant. John will be pleased to share some of the more weird concepts that he is familiar with but he will only do this should the voting be favourable.

The college is a five minute taxi ride from the railway station and is an even shorter distance from the coach station.

Coming from London, the trains leave Kings Cross. There are good discounts on the trains when you buy your ticket well in advance.

Coming by plane to Newcastle, the metro goes into Newcastle and there are very frequent trains to Durham.

Should a group be coming together to Newcastle airport, a taxi can be shared and may be the easiest way to travel to the college.

Should you be coming to London and then on to Durham, the train service is very good. You take it from Kings Cross.

Should you wish to stay in the college either before or after the conference, you may do so. You will just pay for extra bed and breakfast. Should you change your schedule, having arranged it with us, let us know as soon as you can.
