The following questions will be used in a seminar format on Tuesday. This in addition to the completion of your packet will count as your test grade for this novel. Keep in mind the seminar guidelines from earlier in the semester!

1.  Is a life goal really worthwhile if it only affects the person working toward the goal? (Example: A person’s life goal is to earn a degree or see Rome.)

2.  Nannie had a clear vision for Janie’s life, and she was very serious and deliberate in the guidance she provided for Janie. Why did Janie’s life take such a different direction from the one Nannie had intended?

3.  Which was a more important goal to Janie: finding her pear tree experience, or going off in search of the horizon? Choose one! Explain your choice.
