The Young Good Citizen Award Scheme is run in partnership with the High Sheriffs of Shropshire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire and the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner. It aims to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of young people in the community, that might otherwise go unrecognised. Previous young good citizen achievements have included outstanding fund-raising activities and exemplary unselfishness in their attitude towards others.

If you know such a young person, why not nominate them for this year’s award. We are particularly keen to hear about young people who have overcome challenges in their own lives and have still been able to make a difference to others in their community

Each nominee will be awarded a certificate recognising their achievements and they may also be nominated for the overall Young Good Citizen of the Year award, which will be presented at an Award Evening at Force Headquarters, Hindlip Hall, in October.

How do I nominate someone?

We need your help to find young people aged 18 or under, who have demonstrated their commitment to helping others and making the difference in the community either:

a.individually

b.through an individual contribution to a group activity

c.through actively supporting a group activity

They may have helped family, or friends or other members of a wider community as a result of their own initiative or an organised activity.

We are happy to accept nominations of SMALL groups (maximum three people) - just fill in three forms and staple together.

All you have to do is fill in the details below and explain how you think this young person has demonstrated their help for others.

When proposing a young person you need to sign the form and YOU MUST OBTAIN THE PARENT/GUARDIAN’S PERMISSION AND SIGNATURE.

The closing date for nominations is Friday, 31st July 2015.
