Overview of the Week:
In Writing Workshop we will continue to write Realistic Fiction. This week we will review the idea of Beginning – Middle – End in a story. When we make sure we have a Beginning – Middle – End our story makes sense, and has a sequence of events (order in which things happen). As writers and editors we also have to use punctuation correctly…that means actually having punctuation!! Sometimes we forget to put punctuation in our writing and sometimes it is in the wrong place.
In Reading we will continue our work in Reading Groups and Reader’s Workshop. We are talking about sequence of events in our reading this week, just like in our writing!
This week the children will work with compound words. Compound words are made up of 2 smaller words.
In Math, we will review Chapter 6 and do our best on the Chapter 6 Written Assessment.
In Science, we will sort river rocks. We will observe, sort, and describe large pebbles.
Have a super week!
