THE WORD FOR TODAY

…be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.-2 Timothy 2:1 NIV

Applied Worship Experience (AWE)

Both men and women have a unique role in worshiping God. God made humanity in the “imago dei” (image of God), as male and female. Thus, he is only truly reflected when both males and females represent him. Ladies – you have a unique and crucial role in worship! Don’t be afraid to step out! (Vicky Beeching - "Women in Worship Network")

“Then Miriam the prophetess took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women followed her with tambourines and dancing. Miriam sang to them: ‘Sing to the LORD, for he is highly exalted.’”-Exodus 15, esp. vv 1, 21

A REQUEST

My name is Stuart and I work with the RCMP. We have spent the last 8 plus years in Clearwater but I was recently promoted to Staff Sergeant and will be moving to Merritt to look after the Merritt Detachment starting in November. We plan on keeping our home in Clearwater and are hoping to rent a suite in Merritt. I will be travelling back to Clearwater for some of my time off, and Bobbi will be joining me in Merritt some weeks and stay in Clearwater some weeks.

We are looking to rent a self contained one bedroom basement suite with a private entrance. We don’t smoke or drink, and have no pets. All of our kids have grown up and left home so it is just the 2 of us and often just myself in town.

If you know of anyone who may have a place for rent it would be appreciated. We will be heading to Merritt right after church on Sunday Oct 2nd and spending the week to look around and line up accommodation.

Thanks very much

Stu

FOOD BANK

The Merritt & District Food Bank box for non-perishable donations is beside the info table in the foyer. Thank you to those who have made donations – we made another delivery recently which was much appreciated as usual! The need is ongoing so why not buy a few extra items when you are shopping next time and drop them into the box to help out those who need it? And if you do your grocery shopping at Extra Foods, the Food Bank can make use of your till receipts by accumulating them to redeem for extra groceries. Just drop them in the Food Bank box or place them in Lisa Broderick’s mail box in the Fireside Room.
