/ GEORGE EYNONGeorge Eynon has more than 40 years’ experience in most aspects the energy industry. He has more than 20 years of combined experience in the oil & gas upstream sector; and more than 15 years of combined regulatory, energy- and management- consulting, and research experience in government, regulatory, and corporate environments worldwide—including more than 10 years of regulation in Alberta and across Canada.
He is an instructor at the Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary; and delivers industry short courses in all aspects of energy resources, development, and markets globally—to industry, government, and public audiences. He has served on the Boards of several junior oil & gas companies, as well as the governance bodies of four of his professional associations. He is a registered professional geoscientist (PGeo) in both Alberta and British Columbia; and is an elected Councillor with APEGA—Alberta’s self-regulatory agency for the engineering and geoscience professions. He is a Fellow of Geoscientists Canada (and its current President), and an Honourary Fellow of Engineers Canada.
/ OWEN HEISLER
Owen Heisler MD, MBA, FRCSC, FACPE, FCCHL is Assistant Registrar (Operations and Policy Support) for the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta. Prior to this he held senior administrative roles as Edmonton Zone Medical Director for Alberta Health Services, EVP/CMO for Vancouver Island Health Authority (BC) and VP Medicine David Thompson Health Region (Alta). A busy 19-year general surgical practice in Red Deer, Alberta preceded this administrative track. Dr. Heisler is a Canadian Fellowship (FRCSC) general surgeon who earned his MBA from Richard Ivey School of Business, MSc through the University of Alberta, Certificate in Theological Studies through Newman Theological College and several certifications and fellowships from leadership organizations. Dr. Heisler has an interest in knowledge translation, ethics and evidence informed care pathways.
/ STEVEN LEWIS
Steven Lewis is a health policy and research consultant based in Saskatoon, and Adjunct Professor of Health Policy at Simon Fraser University. Prior to resuming a full-time consulting practice, he headed a health research granting agency and spent 7 years as CEO of the Health Services Utilization and Research Commission in Saskatchewan. His clients include governments and government agencies, health regions, policy-makers, regulators, and professional organizations. He has served on various boards and committees, including the Governing Council of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Saskatchewan Health Quality Council, the Health Council of Canada, and the editorial boards of several journals. He writes, speaks, and conducts workshops on improving quality, equity, and performance in health care.

/ JAN ROBINSONJan Robinson is currently the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario, a position she began in 2011. A recognized leader in the field of profession-based regulation, Jan has more than twenty years of experience providing vision and direction to regulatory and public policy organizations.She is recognized as a keen strategist with the ability to build partnerships and engagement at the provincial, national and international levels.
As Registrar for a regulatory college, Jan values the opportunity to serve the public interest. Her position enables her to bring innovative approaches to the delivery of regulatory programs. (Key contributions throughout her career include development of a framework to establish governance excellence, improving the integration of internationally educated professionals into practice and introducing an accountability measurement approach to regulation.)
As well as providing leadership at the College of Veterinarians of Ontario, Jan’s current interests include the global mobility of professionals, developing cultures that support quality outcomes, and promoting agile legislative and standard setting frameworks.
/ SHENDA TANCHAK
ShendaTanchak has been Registrar and CEO of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario since June 2012. Prior to that she spent more than 18 years working for the College of Physicians of Ontario in a variety of roles from sexual abuse investigator to policy analyst to senior advisor to the Executive Office. She holds a Bachelor of Education and a law degree and her first full time job was writing ad copy for a small town Alberta radio station.
